BEA WebLogic Workshop Control and IDE Extension Validation Pricing BEA Validated

  Workshop Java Control/Control Suite:

Initial Fee: $1,900
Each control or control suite that is submitted for validation testing will be charged a fee of $1,900. This will cover the complete validation testing process. As per the BEA-Validated program requirements, control suites must be packaged in a single control implementation JAR.

Failure/Re-Test: $1,000

If your control fails initial validation testing, it may be submitted again for the reduced price of $1,000 within 30 days of notification of failure. If it fails a second time, it may be submitted again for retesting upon payment of another $1,000. If it fails a third time, or more than 30 days passes upon notification of either the first or second failure, the process begins again and the full validation testing price of $1,900 must be paid.

*Note: Be sure to follow the validation requirements exactly to avoid unnecessary additional fees.

WebLogic Workshop IDE Extension:
  Initial Fee: $2,200
Since IDE Extensions typically provide more large-grained functionality than controls, thus requiring more time for testing, each IDE Extension that is submitted will be charged a fee of $2,200. This covers the complete validation testing process.

  Failure/Re-Test: $1,150
If your extension fails initial validation testing, it may be submitted again for the reduced price of $1,150 within 30 days of notification of failure. If it fails a second time, it may be submitted again for retesting upon payment of another $1,150. If it fails a third time, or more than 30 days passes upon notification of either the first or second failure, the process begins again and the full validation testing price of $2,200 must be paid.

*Note: Be sure to follow the validation requirements exactly to avoid unnecessary additional fees.

Validation of Version Upgrades:
Major Version Upgrade (Example: V2.5 to V3.0): 50% of Initial Fee
Version upgrade pricing requires that the version being upgraded is already validated. Any version change to the Major Version Number must pay this fee, even - for example - V2.9 to V3.0. The "Percentage of Fee" corresponds to the fee required for a new product of that type ($950 - i.e. 50% of $1,900 for Controls; $1,100 - i.e. 50% of $2,200 for Extensions).

Minor Version Upgrade (Example: V2.3 to V2.5): 20% of Initial Fee
A Minor Version Upgrade can contain no more than ten new features (not including bug fixes). This equates to no more than thirty new function points added to the control or extension.
